Introduction: Welcome to Mini Movie Makers, an entry level short course designed exclusively for creative young minds aged 9-13. This 6 week course gives children a taster of video making and YouTube cannels. 

 

Get ready to embark on an exciting journey into the world of videomaking, where students will learn to bring their imagination to life, have fun and learn new skills. Join us as we unlock their potential and give them something to really enhance their skills, building confidence and making productive use of their screen time!
 

Course Overview: Our Mini Movie Makers course provides hands-on experience and practical knowledge in creating captivating short videos. Throughout the course, students will be introduced to various aspects of videomaking including equipment, scene setting, lighting, sound, recording, software and apps, editing, creating a Youtube channel and uploading their first video 😲 

With guidance, they will acquire the essential skills needed to express their unique voice, transform their ideas into video and inspire them to use devices and screentime effectively and responsibly. Inspiring them to develop these skills across other areas.

Key Highlights:

• Equipment: Discover the power and potential of the smartphone for video making.  We will also look at the use of additional lighting and using microphones. 

• Scene setting: Choosing the right backgrounds, settings and lighting.

• Script writing/planning: The importance of knowing the purpose and message of the video and planning in order to get this right for sleek results.

• Shooting: Exploring different tricks with cameras for different effects. Discover how camera angles, lighting, and shot composition contribute to storytelling and create different moods and atmospheres. Exploring and developing new skills both in front of and behind the camera.

• Editing and Post-Production: They will explore the power of free editing software and apps and discover how to enhance their footage with sound effects, music, and visual effects to give their video's that professional touch. 

• Creating their own YouTube channel and uploading their first video! (This will be a private channel, only parents and teachers will be able to view the video and will need parents permission to create it, parents will have control over this and we will provide instructions on how to manage this if required).

• Showcase their work: Witness the impact of their creativity and talent has on their confidence and self-esteem as they present to you their masterpiece.
